Projected use of funds for AQHA

AQHA proposed payout for Texas H.O.R.S.E. Performance Horse Development Fund:

  • 20 percent to Texas bred/foaled American Quarter Horses for earning points at AQHA approved shows. Must be nominated to AQHA Incentive Fund Program;
  • Additional 6 percent bonus for competing at AQHA approved shows held in the state of Texas;
  • Make 15 percent of the revenues available to “entities” (counties, local show facilities and/or open show organizations) to award to registered American Quarter Horses participating at these venues. Could be in the form of prize money, awards, etc;
  • Appoint a steering committee made up of members from the Ranch Horse Association of America, Stock Horse Association of Texas, U.S. Team Penning & Ranch Sorting Association to determine a means to pay out, either in prize money, awards or other incentives, 25 percent of AQHA PHDF revenues for members participating with a registered American Quarter Horse. Ownership records and membership with AQHA must be current to be eligible.
  • Distribute 30 percent of AQHA PHDF to clubs/organizations conducting trail rides to award (awards, incentive monies, meals, feed, etc.) to participants riding a registered American Quarter Horse. Trail riders must be current AQHA members to receive awards/incentives and ownership record for the horse must be current. This will encourage recreational riders to keep AQHA membership and transfer of ownership up to date.
  • Four percent dedicated to an administrative fund to facilitate payout of PHDF funds, recordkeeping and rule compliance with above named entities.
